Michigan is a land of many lakes. With the lakes available, it would be crazy not imagine all of the great fishing locations. There are so many lakes to choose from that I will not focus on one, but cover many of these favorite lakes to fish.
The first lake that comes to mind is Lake Michigan. Lake Michigan provides some of the best places to fish for steelhead, coho salmon, trout and bass. Being one of the largest lakes in the world, this lake provides for some of the best fishing in the United States.
If you want to fish Walleye, there are a few smaller lakes that provide fishing holes for anglers. Lake Gogebic, Houghton Lake and Portage Lake are three of the best. The Walleye in Lake Gogebic often hide near dropoffs and weedbeds. The Walleye here tend to go after many different types of bait. Houghton Lake offers great opportunities for trolling in shallow water. When doing this it is recommended that you use a variety of crankbaits if you are looking for a large catch. Portage Lake is where you will you have the best chance at making that trophy catch.
Michigan has so many lakes to choose from that you will have to decide which one is best for you.
